Lose Weight While Eating Out

You can learn how to eat out at restaurants and still lose weight. In todays society, you will find it almost impossible to avoid eating out in restaurants, so some basic information on how to eat in restaurants and still lose weight is what you will need.
I know that in my weight loss battles, just the thought of eating in a restaurant would frighten me. Self control is not one of my greatest virtues. If I had great self control, I wouldn't be constantly waging the war against weight gain.

You should avoid richly fried foods, they are not good for your health, and this has nothing to do with dieting. Avoid these foods at all times, but especially in a restaurant. You have no control over what types of oils thay are using. Raw vegetables and fruits are the best foods to help you loose weight quickly, and they are readily available in restaurants, especially if they have a salad bar.

Here are four tips that will help you lose weight while eating restaurant food:

1. Eat at vegetarian restaurants: To be safe, I advise you visit only restaurants that serve vegetarian meals. Non vegetarian restaurants are only allowed, once you understand how to eat out, and still lose weight. You have to know how to spot high-calorie foods and high-fat foods. Those are the ones that must be avoided at all cause until you get control of your eating habits. Controlling your habits is key to eating out and still being able to lose weight.

Most restaurants serve ordinary chicken meat, and you should only be eating lean chicken meat. Ordinary chicken meat is fatty and should be avoided. Most restaurants don’t offer the choice between the two, and that is why you should stick with vegetarian restaurants.

2. Avoid all types of salad dressings: Many give information on the types of different salad dressing: lite, non fat and low carbohydrate, and state that they don’t add to your weight loss problem. Not true. Avoid salad dressings as they are high in fat and calories. Ask for fresh lemon wedges and squeeze the juice over your salad and raw vegetables. As you already know, raw vegetable helps you burn fat by increasing your metabolic rate.

3. Buffet style is affordable: Buffet style is the most affordable meals served today, but they are very rich in calories, and the fried foods should be avoided at all cost. These meals are prepared in fatty oils, and will not help you lose weight. So, while going with the buffet meals, choose the salads, fruits and other healthy alternatives. You should try to avoid eating any type of meals prepared in oil or fat. Grilled meals are great, but only small portions. Practice these weight loss habits faithfully, and your restaurant experience can be a joy for you.

4. Avoid big meals: The amount of food you eat, is actually a measure for the amount of weight you will gain. You should limit the amount you eat. Smaller portion are better than huge amounts digested over one meal. Remember, we are trying to eat 4-5 meals a day. You can't eat everything you need at one meal. Don’t over eat. Save some for another day, that will help you to stop over-eating and help you lose weight. You can visit a restaurant once or twice per week, just monitor what you eat, and how much. But, stick to your diet plan, and don’t forget to exercise at least three times per week to maximize your ability to lose weight.

I have found that the easiest way for me to stay on goal and eat out is to carry my packets of Leanology. I can visit with my friends and enjoy myself and still have a shake. The shakes fill me and I know I have not destroyed my weight plan.

Easy Weight Loss Tips

Here's a few helpful hints that make the weight loss game a little easier and give you an edge in the never ending battle. My battle rages everyday and I am always looking for a few handy tips. These tips are ones I use and they are easy. You and I both know, it must be easy or we won't do it!

1.Drink a glass or ice cold water as soon as you sit down for your meal. Or, enjoy a bowl of broth-based soup just before your entree.

2.Before having your meal, about 30 minutes before, preceed your meal with an apple, raw vegetables or a salad with reduced fat dressing. Doing so will curb your appetite and give your diet a fiber boost. Remember, fiber is your best friend in this weight loss battle.

3. Keep your blood sugar (and your appetite) at an even keel all day long by not going any longer than 5 hours without having something to eat. Keep celery sticks, carrots, bell pepper strips close at hand for munchies. The crispy crunch helps weight loss by giving you a psycological boost.

4.Eat multiple, healthy mini meals throughout the day rather than a few large ones. This does mean a candy bar! We are talking fruits and veggies here.
5.Eat a carb and protein-comprised snack 1 to 2 hours before your meal. For example, reduced fat cheese and crackers or cereal with low-fat yogurt.

6.Avoid overeating due to emotions by talking to a counselor or close friend, or keeping a journal. Or, log on to a message board or chat room you enjoy to get support from your "virtual" friends. If those are not available, take a 30 minute walk.

7.Exercise! When you feel a binge coming on, exercise is a great way to elevate your mood and get your mind off food. It also relieves stress. Weight loss is never an easy project. Protect your emotional self with plenty of exercise.

8.When dining out, ask your server to package up half of your entree in to-go container when he brings your meal. Chances are you won't open that container and eat the rest there and then. Think about how many times you may have done this without realizing you just won a round in the weight loss battle by eating half the calories you normally would have.

Weight loss is a battle we wage everyday, and a good portion of it is done by just implementing a few little tricks. If you see any new tricks online, skype me. I am always looking for new, easy tips to aide in the battle of weight loss.

Magic Foods for Magic Weight Loss

Having a “full feeling “in your tummy is a tremendous help to a person when they are striving for their weight loss goals. Nothing will make you give up on your weight loss plan faster than to experience that constant gnawing feeling in your tummy.

Nutritionist and food scientist say there are two basic food categories that can be considered “majic foods” because they make your tummy feel full without the addition of extra calories. This full feeling is a tremendous help in achieving your desired weight loss. These two groups are fruits and vegetables. The aspect of fruits and vegetables that gives you that “full feeling” is fiber. Remember, fiber is a dieters best friend. Fiber is definitely what puts the magic in your diet.

Protein is another super-nutrient. It's becoming more scientifically accepted that protein may help to curb appetite. Protein also offers staying power, and can slightly boost your metabolism in the process. It is very important for you to choose your protein wisely. If you have a choice between a 10 oz. rib eye steak, or a nice low fat yogurt, pick the yogurt. Just as with any other type of food, too many calories still means it will show on the scales, but the protein base of the yogurt will help curb appetite.

Here are some additional magic foods that help you stay on that weight loss plan.

Green Tea - Researchers suspect that the catechins (helpful phytochemicals) in green tea may trigger weight loss by stimulating the body to burn calories and mildly decrease body fat. So indulge in either a hot cup or a nice tall iced glass of green tea.

Broth- or tomato-based soup – Soups can help reduce hunger before meals and increase your feeling of fullness.

Low-calorie green salads - Having a low-calorie salad – which is not defined as one that’s loaded with croutons, high fat dressings, and cheese - as a first course can help you feel full, thereby reducing how much you eat with your main course. Wisely choose your ingredients, and its high fiber content can be the key to helping you fight cravings later in the day.

Yogurt – Remember the yogurt? Including dairy products as part of your healthy diet may promote your weight loss.

Beans – A great combination of fiber and protein, beans help you feel full longer, which means they may work to curb your between-meal appetite.

Water – Water is your body’s lifeblood, and you should be drinking it through your day. It’s a great no-calorie beverage, and you can get it by drinking unsweetened tea, flavored unsweetened mineral water, regular water with lime or lemon, or even in your cucumber. In addition to helping flush toxins from the body, it can also help you feel full. So when those hunger pangs strike, try drinking a glass of water before grabbing that snack.

High-Fiber, Whole-Grain Cereal - Whole grains in general help boost fiber and the nutritional value of your meal. One of the easiest ways to give your diet a whole-grain boost is to have a bowl of higher-fiber whole-grain cereal as breakfast or a snack. Believe me, you can develop a taste for shredded wheat and it is loaded with fiber to give you a low calorie fullness for your tummy.

Quick Weight Loss With the Cabbage Soup Diet

The cabbage soup diet is one of the most well known of the fad diets for quick weight loss.

Since I have been dieting for almost 40 years, it is a diet that I have used many times to achieve quick weight loss right before a special event and find I need to fit into that special dress.

Many people have tried it over the years, but just remember that it is fad, and weight loss is rarely permanent with quick weight loss diet fads. Also remember, they can have a bad effect on your health, so keep the use of this diet to a minimum. I have found it is best to only do this diet rarely, and for short periods of time, but it is a life-saver for quick weight loss. I have found it is best to give yourself one month to achieve your weight loss, in case you have a problem tolerating the diet.

This diet is intended to be used for a seven day period following the instructions, ingredients and proportions exactly. If after one week, you still feel that you must lose additional weight, wait two weeks eating normally, then repeat the Cabbage Soup Diet for one more week. The Cabbage Soup Diet doesn’t provide you with all the nutrients needed for a permanent way of eating, but it’s a great diet to get you started on your weight loss program.

The Cabbage Soup consists of 6 green onions; 2 green peppers; 1-2 cans tomatoes; 3 carrots, 10-oz mushrooms; one bunch of celery; half head of cabbage, a package of dry soup mix; 2 bouillon cubes; 48 oz of V-8 juice and seasoning to taste. The ingredients are brought to a boil and simmered for two hours. The amount of soup desired can be heated and eaten as required. You may eat as much of the soup as you like during the entire duration of the seven days. The kicker is that you can only eat the soup, plus the fruits listed below. This does make breakfast a bit unusual.

The daily plan in addition to bottomless soup is as follows: Day One: - all the fresh fruit desired except bananas; Day Two - unlimited raw or cooked vegetables and one baked potato with butter if you wish; Day Three – Unlimited fruits except bananas and unlimited vegetables but no potato; Day Four – Up to eight bananas and as much skim milk as you want; Day Five -- Six tomatoes and up to 20 ounces of beef, skinless chicken or broiled fish; Day Six -- Unlimited vegetables and up to 20 ounces of beef or skinless chicken. Broiled fish can be substituted for beef on one of the days only; Day Seven – unlimited quantities of brown rice, unsweetened fruit juice and vegetables

Again, this is not a diet for extended periods. If you experience symptoms such as nausea, lightheadedness and weakness, discontinue the regimen. You should visit a health care professional if the side effects continue once you’ve returned to ‘normal’ eating. Most people tolerate the bloated gassy feeling because they know it’s only for seven days. You can do anything for only 7 days, right? The prospect of quickly losing 10 lbs. does motivate you to stay with this diet, despite the gassy feeling.
